Opera, classical music and choir music sung by women's choir La Nova Singers in Dorset

For the 2017 Season, classical chamber choir La Nova Singers will continue to champion new music for female voice choirs. Their summer concert will feature songs by the French baroque composer Jean-Baptiste Lully, alongside new compositions written by contemporary composer Frederick Naftel.

Their season begins in March 2017 with a free concert celebrating the life of founder member Su Convy.

A Celebration of the Life and Music of Su Convy - Memorial Concert

7.30 PM | Christchurch Baptist Church, Christchurch

Su Convy, a soprano and founder member of La Nova Singers, was known for her warm personality; her strength; and for the power and beauty of her voice. She died of cancer in 2016, but left so many joyous memories with all of us who were lucky to have known her and sung alongside her. In this full-length free concert, La Nova Singers will perform a selection of Su's favourite pieces from the choir's repertoire - many of them uplifting or nostalgic. Everyone is welcome to come along and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman.

Admission free with retiring collection.
