Afternoon Concert with Cream Tea
Classical choir La Nova Singers return to Wimborne with an afternoon of musical, and edible, delights! Enjoy a delicious cream tea while listening to summery choral music, performed by one of Dorset’s acclaimed women’s choirs.
La Nova Singers will be conducted by their musical director, Michelle Nova, and accompanied on piano by Simon Giliver.

The Music
Our musical director Michelle has chosen a variety of beautiful songs, by composers including Mozart, Gilbert & Sullivan and Ola Gjeilo. New for this year, we are learning a choral arrangement of George Gershwin’s ‘Summertime‘. More details will be added here as our set list evolves.
The Cream Tea
To make this concert the perfect afternoon treat, a delicious cream tea is included in the price of your ticket! This will consist of:
- Two scones
- Cream and Jam
- Strawberries
- A selection of sandwiches
- Tea (including fruit teas) or coffee
The refreshments will be served during a break in the concert, and can be enjoyed at your table. The bar will also be open if you wish to purchase additional drinks.
The Venue
We will be performing in the old library of Merley House, an 18th-century Georgian manor house located near Wimborne, Dorset. Seating will be at tables, cabaret style, so that you will have a good view of the concert but also be able to enjoy your refreshments. We have limited ticket numbers to suit the size of the space, and ensure everyone has room to enjoy their afternoon.
La Nova Singers have performed at Merley several times in recent years, and we are pleased to have it in our regular line-up of classical music concert venues, here in Dorset.
